New President of Toranomon Hospital Pays a Courtesy Call on JCMT’s Counterparts in Vietnam
In early December 2014, the President of Toranomon Hospital, Dr. Yasuyoshi Ouchi, paid a courtesy call on Viet Duc Hospital, Hanoi Medical School, and observed the hospital. During his visit, he also confirmed the status of activities of the JCMT’s Alumni in Vietnam and the effects of the JCMT program.
President Ouchi was accompanied by the new Secretary-General of the JCMT, Mr. Takashi Sugi, and the JCMT’s Coordinator, Ms. Atsuko “Kathy” Kato, who collected information for invitation of JCMT trainees from Vietnam in the future. A total of 13 former JCMT Fellows, including the President of the hospital, are currently working at Viet Duc Hospital. Because a number of former Fellows expressed their hopes to study as Fellows again, and many other doctors also said they hope to be dispatched to Toranomon Hospital as JCMT Fellows, these requests are being reflected in the future program based on a screening process.
